Dear Prospective Parents,
In the next three weeks, we are hosting three Open House opportunities, and we cordially invite all prospective students and families to tour our campus and learn more about Harmony Public Schools.
Join us on:
January 31st begins at 5:00 PM and ends at 6:30 PM
February 9th begins at 11:00 AM and ends at 12:30 PM
These events are designed for students and families who are currently NOT enrolled for this current 2018-2019 school year When you arrive, we will have a short presentation for parents, followed by a tour of our campus. In order to enjoy the full experience, please make sure to arrive on time.
Please note that:
- On January 31st from 5:00 to 7:00, we are also hosting the Curriculum Night for our current students and their families. We are providing educational games and workshops for participants to enjoy. You are welcome to join us after the Open House presentation.
- The enrollment lottery date is February 21st, 2019 at 6:00 PM at Harmony Public Schools Central Office which is located at 9321 W. Sam Houston Pkwy S. Houston, TX. 77099.

We will have STAAR Field Test for 7th grade writing will be held on February 14th.
- It helps to evaluate the quality, difficulty and fairness of questions
- Builds high-quality tests for future years
- Field-test data are critical to the state’s ability to build high-quality assessments.

For parents who have not yet completed re-enrollment, here are a few reminders:
- Re-Enrollment must be completed in Skyward using your parent login.
- You must upload a utility bill as proof of residency. If you are unable to upload a utility bill, you can bring a copy to the front office.
- No re-enrollment will be accepted or complete without a utility bill as proof of residence.
- The final day for re-enrollment is Friday, January 25th. No re-enrollment will be accepted after this date. In order to secure your spot for the 2019-2020 school year, you must have this form completed.
- 8th grade parents must also complete this re-enrollment form in order to secure your spot at Harmony School of Ingenuity.

You’re invited to take our website survey to find out if our website is meeting your needs. At Harmony, we want to be “in touch” with our community, so opening a feedback mechanism is a great way for you to participate in making decisions about the future of our work.
In this case, we need your valuable opinions on the design and overall usability of the site for our upcoming redesign.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Mark your calendar! There will be award assemblies for our students on Friday, January 11th, 2019 in the school’s gym. Students will be recognized for their achievement in the following four categories based on the first semester:
All A’s Honor Roll
All A’s & B’s Honor Roll
For All A’s Honor Roll, the student must have earned all A’s on their report card for all nine-week grading periods For the All A’s & B’s Honor Roll, the student must have earned all A’s and B’s for all nine-weeks grading period. For Perfect Attendance, the student must not have any absences (excused or unexcused) for the past semester. For Exemplary Conduct, the student must have never received any DPS points for the past semester.
In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking referrals for all interested students in grades K-12 for gifted and talented screening.
Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment. Students in grades 2 & up who were tested in the Fall 2018 are not eligible to test in Spring 2019. Referral forms are available at the front office and on the school’s web site.
The referral forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 8, 2019.
The 2019 Spring GT testing window is February 11, 2019 – March 29, 2019.

HPS Child Find Policy
It is the policy of the Harmony Public Schools to ensure that
- All children with disabilities enrolled in the charter school regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated; and
- A practical method is developed and implemented to determine which children are currently receiving needed special education and related services.
These requirements apply to:
- Homeless children;
- Children who are wards of the state;
- Highly mobile children (including migrant children); and
- Children who are suspected of being in need of special education but who are advancing from grade to grade.
